Following their public announcement, an award ceremony will occur on April 12 at which time, UNSY award recipients will be presented their individual awards and other sponsor-provided gifts.

The final selection of UNSY Award finalists will be determined by our panel of five judges using a standardized scoring system in which the nomination form will be evaluated for the strength of its claims on behalf of the nominee. These five judges are individuals who have a substantial history of service to the people of Tallahassee within the fields of journalism, government, education, business, civic and religious organizations. They are among those who appreciate what is required of an individual to overcome personal and professional obstacles. They understand that in order to provide solutions for others, one’s personal needs may go unmet, and who value those who have chosen to take positions of servant leadership despite forbidding circumstances.
